When considering the many sources of renewable energy that could help reduce the United States' dependence on fossil fuels, much consideration must be give to geothermal. Geothermal energy is entirely clean and does not pose the health risks associated with the harvesting, use, and burning of fossil fuels.

The most powerful form of renewable energy on earth is solar energy. So what is solar energy exactly? It is the energy that can be harnessed from the heat that's found in the suns rays. The sun produces so much energy, that if harnessed, it would only take one minute to have enough to provide the earth with sufficient energy to last at least 12 months!

One of the best things about solar power is its relative simplicity. Add that to the independence you get and the clean renewable energy that comes from it, and you've got a winner. After all, you need a solar panel or panels, wiring, a regulator/charge controller, an inverter, and in some cases a deep cycle battery. The inverter is one of the most important, but also one of the most frequently overlooked components. It's what helps you turn energy from your solar panel into usable power.
